Beeland the Streaker is a series of three to four graphic novels, drawn in semi manga form. However, these aren't your typical graphic novels. The best way to describe them is to call them a hybrid series; finely tuned and fitted to be placed in almost any category.
Q. Who Are Your Targeted Readers?
Any and every one! It had to be this way. It’s for anyone that can read, anyone that loves pictures, anyone that desires to be educated about how bees affect whether or not, not just their personal lives, but everyone on the whole entire globe, lives or dies.
The Great Creator, created roughly everything before He made mankind. What the Creator did was establish a system in which mankind could survive and sustain, and instead of making it a void task for Himself, of always having to tend to petty conflicts amongst us humans, he established a system in which we could survive, the only intervening on his part is when we as humans begin self doubt or fail to perceive what He intended.
The Creator made one man, hypothetically speaking, and instead of him creating man after man after man, the Creator of Energy, placed a system in that one man that was able to produce men. Most of it is known as the Immune System. There are rankings in everything, but to nullify the contradictions, grumbling, mummers and complaining or, the pointing of fingers, we are all considered one. But it is our level of consciousness that determines how much of that “oneness” we truly understand. We all are made for one purpose and under one plan. That is to keep Love Energy in circulation. By understanding the bee, we as humans understand a system, in which the Creator used to set His rankings, still for one purpose where we all are, in a supreme, non-contradictory way, all equal.
Q. Did You Always Want To Write?
I can’t really answer that question straight up because my answer would have to be, I don’t know. However, I knew I was always writing… everyday I wrote and I drew. I wrote on the walls, I drew on the toilet seats at home. I began in cursive writing from the first grade, and drawing insects and landscapes around the same time too, but I hated English Language in high school, might have been the teacher at the time too. Primary was a bit different. I loved it. Three of my classmates and I felt we had to draw a sketch next two every one or two paragraphs. We realized that words were pictures and they told stories of their own if you wanted them too. Drawing for all these years, I’ve realized that words were actually pictures and pictures were words or at least numbers and that if anyone ever knew how to write the letters of the alphabet but especially ‘a, c, l, o, w or v and the number 3… they could draw virtually anything they could think about, it was all a matter of writing the right letters, in the right order, in the right places. Writing was drawing and drawing was writing.
The “bee”, I have drawn time and time again with these same key principals as well as the insect, the “fly”. Strange enough, these two insects are the complete opposites of each other like cold and hot. So, did I always want to write… Well for sure, I‘ve now developed a passion. But just like it states at the back of the Novel, “Beeland the Streaker,” One day I “did” find a bee, and I was cleaning my yard. I did in fact loose the bee, and it did look strange. That day, it made me think. Whatever it was, something got turned on inside of me and from that day I began writing, then became an author, now a Bahamas Best Seller.
Q. How Did You Come Up With That (Story, Angle, Idea)?
Everything felt natural, there was absolutely no writer’s block, I felt like I was being spoken to and was only writing whatever I was hearing. I was following orders. Information got resurrected from the nooks and crannies of my mind that I thought I had long forgotten. The story’s angle conformed itself. The first book was what somewhat to set the platform for a greater experience and way of understanding. This book I actually did have to hurdle over writer’s block, but I got over it by a few key principals, the greatest one being - “To Live”. An old schoolmate had congratulated me on the first book and made the comment that many more were still inside of me. The drive never left me, but I wasn’t getting the “words”. Ironically, he told me that I was trying too hard and then uttered two words to me, “Just Live.” Those were his words to me and five years later I have finally competed the sequel all because I lived. Sometimes we need to cultivate experiences in order to relate. The Series of “Beeland the Streaker”, procreated itself because the whole angle and spectrum deals with relations, relationships and thought processing.
Q. How Has The Reaction Been So Far Towards The Book By The General Public?
The Public has responded very well to the release of the first book and still do up to date. Fans of my work constantly bombard me with the question of when is the next release. However for some strange reason, people still believe in, “bootlegging” and as I was exercising one day, a gentlemen came and spoke to me about the book. He didn’t buy a copy but he knew its contents quite well, he told me so. Persons from U.S., U.K., Netherlands, China and Africa have all found the book most delightful and informative in a way that keeps anyone from any walk of life, entertained and intertwined. It was approved by the Bahamas’ Ministry of Education to be apart of the Bahamas Government High School’s Curriculum, but nothing ever elevated from it. Instead, the Curriculum is filled with foreign books by foreign authors, that our kids never knew, nor cared if those people were living or dead, especially if there was no contribution to their upbringing. After that particular gentleman discussed the contents of the book with me, I felt real good. It felt good to know that the information that was poured into me was worth learning…worth knowing…worth sharing. Tyler Perry started out with everyone bootlegging his material too. I perceive at it as flattery in its most controversial form.
Q. Will There Be Any Other Books Following?
Most definitely! Please believe it! Beeland the Streaker Part I: A Bee Lover’s Tale is the first and the Sequel is nearly completed. It’s entitled, “Beeland the Streaker Part II: The Journey Begins”. Its subtitle, “A Bee’s Dream Into Subtle Pychonueroimmunology. That’s three words in one. The name may be long but it explains itself. For years we were taught what to think but not how to think. It’s because the key principals were missing. The Sequel, “The Journey Begins,” will be out this year 2014, after five years in the making.
Q. Are There Any Characters In The Book That Are Extra Special To You And Why?
Yes, without question I do have a favorite character but it may change in the upcoming prequels. My favorite at the moment is Beeland, but it’s because I can understand him. If an author or illustrator can learn to listen to the voice of a character based on that character’s, personal character, they will then begin to tell their own story. You just have to listen. A new character to look out for is, “Sema” because he becomes a real challenge for Beeland. None of the past adversaries or experiences Beeland has faced, compare what he is about to experience. Two more characters to take notice of are the Breecher, and the Old Tailor. Terry is still there.
