Inspirational Creations is Chef Owned and Operated by founder Daron Wilson. He has built his company on the key values of integrity, culinary talent, honesty and hard work.
A native of the Bahamas, Chef Daron Wilson has spent over 15 years in the culinary industry. He began his career working in an upscale restaurant in his college town of Huntington, WV. As a cook he learned the fundamentals of American, Italian & Asian infused cuisines. Chef Daron transitioned to Atlanta, Ga to further pursue his career in the culinary field. Chef Daron enrolled in a culinary program in which he successfully obtained his culinary degree. He was given many opportunities to show his talents working with other chefs specializing in Caribbean, Southern & Asian cuisines.
For several years he trained hundreds of aspiring sous chefs & executive chefs while furthering his career overseeing a multi million dollar national corporate dining service account developing menus, planning and food costing. Chef Daron's ongoing success has given him the opportunities to prepare dinners for international and local dignitaries. These principles, combined with the level of personalized service extended to his clients, has secured a loyal following for catering and personal chef connection and a sterling reputation in the metro Atlanta area.
Random Q&A Session With Chef Daron
Question 1: When did you realize that cooking was your passion?
A: My passion was founded once I was on
college and worked at a local eatery waiting tables and working in the kitchen as a short order cook and dishwasher.
Question 2: If you hadn’t become a Chef what other career field would you have chosen to get into and why?
A: If I wasn't a chef I would have become a drug enforcement agent(DEA). I always wanted to help keep drugs off the streets and out of the hands of youths.
Question 3: What do you do when you’re not in Professional Chef mode?
A: I enjoy family time (playing football with my boys, skating, swimming, parks) and fitness when I'm not in the kitchen.
Question 4: What has been the best and worst experience you’ve ever had in the kitchen? 4B) What have you learnt or gained from each experience?
A: My best experiences in the kitchen have always been teaching aspiring chefs how to better expand their skills and become culinary leaders in their field of expertise. Worst experience has always been when I have to stop cooking because I ran out of food. My learning experience overall is always
be passionate within your skills mindset and if you should ever fall down or
trip, get up and continue striving to be the best.
Question 5: What is your favorite gadget/tool that you find very useful in the kitchen and why?
A: Most useful tool in the kitchen is the mind! Your ability to become creative within your four corners of the kitchen.
Question 6: Food Critics … Friend or Foe?
A: Food Critics are always your friends. They make you stronger!
What’s it like being a Bahamian living abroad and pursuing your dreams/goals? B) What has your support system (if any) back in the 242 been like? C) Do they encourage you to continue to succeed abroad or try to get you to come back to the 242? D) Do you plan to come back to the 242?
A: There's a lot of opportunity in Atlanta for the field that I am in. I can only base my personal opinions on Atlanta. The sky is the limit in this city and you can grow. There has been overwhelming support from family and friends all over the Bahamas for me to continue striving to be the best chef there is. With my family being here in Atlanta I can definitely now call this city home!
